Weight Stories

STORY 2:  [March 3, 2011]

In high school, I became friends with a girl who was very thin.  People accused her of being anorexic, but this girl could eat a whole pizza and never gain a pound.  She was a lucky person with an insanely high metabolism.  No, she wasn't anorexic.

She dated a guy for about a year, after he chased her and chased her.  She fell in love with him, and then his attention turned to this other girl who is still to this day, the thinnest girl I know.  She was a size 0, IF she was that big.  The guy wanted to date her, and my friend has been obsessed with her size since then.  She felt as though she was not as good looking as this size 0 girls.  My friend doesn't care about health, it's SIZE SIZE SIZE.

While we all want to be thinner, people overlook health.  Sure, I want to be thin, but darn, I want to live a while too.  Why do people lose sight of this?  They think that eating nothing is healthy?

STORY 1:

Over 5 years ago, my aunt had gastric bypass. Well, that's an important fact in this story, but let me back up.

My aunt struggled with her weight basically her whole life (so did most of the women in my family). In the mid 90s she took a job at a factory, and even though she was on her feet 8 solid hours a day, her weight only increased. Why? Mayonnaise. She wouldn't eat a bite without mayonnaise, and tons of it. Yep. She ordered extra mayonnaise and mayonnaise on the side, and mayonnaise every which a way she could get it. Oh, this story is not about mayonnaise.

She worked in the factory for about 7 years before she decided to get gastric bypass. Throughout the 7 years, she really only had 2 dates. The 2 dates were with the same man, and I don't think it was ever romantically charged because they were best friends in high school.

When she had gastric bypass and the pounds began to fly off, date offers began coming from the left and right. My aunt was infuriated at the men for "just caring about her looks" and she told them where they could go... (in other words, she turned them down).

Another man who supposedly liked her before the surgery asked her out, and she went out with him. Four years later, they were married.

When my aunt said that this man "liked her before the surgery"... I did not believe her and still don't. I mean, why did never ask her out until after the surgery?
